Our latest project called ‘Raise a Titanic‘ is a collaboration between the Titanic Brewery and ourselves Projects from Pallets CIC. We were happy to be presented with a cheque from Dave Bott from the Brewery to work with young people, volunteers and loyal customers in Stoke-on-Trent.

Our initial idea back in 2017 was to recycle pallets with elderly volunteers to tackle loneliness and isolation. Our health and wellbeing activities have now become intergenerational. We co-create more models of heritage with local youth and community groups, charities and trusts.

The apprentices at The Spark Group based in Hanley helped to recycle the Brewery’s damaged and unwanted pallets to make these ingenious Titanic themed bottle racks for their chain of pubs and bods.
The funds helped to give young people the opportunities to show their practical skills and potential, leading to real life work experiences and a career in the trades.
Community workshops also took place in Burslem, the Mother Town of the Potteries. Titanic themed models made by the apprentices were completed in the beer garden of the Bull’s Head. Customers sanded the bottle racks before applying paint to the recycled timber in the style of the iconic ship.

The pallet artwork will be able to be seen by customers across the Potteries, helping to celebrate the Brewery’s 40th anniversary while tackling climate change through recycling.

Thanks to the Titanic Brewery Foundation, including donations from loyal customers, in making this project happen…
