Description
Limited edition, individually made Bottleoven / bottle kiln shaped doorstops. Approximate 30-35cm high by 24cm width by 10cm thick at base.
The 2-3 kilogram products have a 90 degree angle at the back and 82 degree slope at front. Recycled timber is cleaned, sanded smooth, stained and polished to a medium oak finish.
All are individually made so products may vary in appearance and size. We recommend to arrange the pickup option at checkout if you are local in order to choose from our stock.
Doorstops have an industrial chain plate ring in black steel and an oak door is painted and fitted at the front.
“PUT WOOD IN HOLE!” is burned into the front of the doorstop.
It is a well known saying with origins in Yorkshire, Lancashire & Manchester. Used when there’s a draft and to tell someone to shut the bloody door.
In contrast, people from the Potteries used the saying to keep the smoke out of our terraced houses. Today, these products will help to bring fresh air and the scent of garden flowers into the home.
